Wow just wow What a book Having seen the two journalists do an interview I thought I'd give the book a read as it could be interesting I haven't been able to put it down I'm not normally a fan of non fiction but this was enthralling I like everyone else saw the newspaper and social media reporting about Weinstein and the #metoo movement and as a woman knew this behaviour was pervasive but the scariest takeaway from the book was how much companies and people covered up these individuals behaviours The painstaking detail and care shown by the authors in piecing everything together was told in a really engaging way I'd advise everyone should read this book not only because it's a great read but to really think about the issues in our society

Riveting One of the best books I’ve read in a while Superb research Shocking detail around how wrong doing is covered up and what money can buy in terms of deception A must read for everyone who wonders how people get away with horrible behaviour

This is the story of the two New York Times journalists who uncovered Harvey Weinstein’s decades of sexual predation told in the third person It’s effectively a companion piece to Ronan Farrow’s account of his Weinstein probe in Catch and Kill Farrow’s book was written in the first person and had a greater sense of immediacy and driving narrative She Said doesn’t explore the backgrounds of the reporters in any depth and arguably the third person narration has a distancing effect That said it’s a remarkable story; perhaps the best scene sees Weinstein himself turning up at the NYT offices in a final failed bid to crush the story She Said is much concerned than Farrow’s book with the political and social conseuences of the investigation as the Me Too movement claimed a succession of scalps in a range of industries Halfway through it pivots to examine the story of Dr Christine Blasey Ford who accused Brett Kavanaugh Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee of sexually assaulting her while drunk at high school Not as successful as Farrow’s book and written less engagingly but still a vital read for anyone who wants to unpick how Weinstein evaded detection for so long and how Press scrutiny led to his spectacular downfall

Having read Ronan Farrow catch and kill on Harvey Weinstein this popped up as a recommended item I downloaded it and carried on with my dayAlmost a month later it was Christmas after all I decided to sit down and give the book a try I didn't have great expectations having never read any articles by the authors due to living in the UKI finished it in two days I could not put it down From the first voice to the last these women have shown strength and grace in the line of fireI had some knowledge of Paltrow being a victim of Weinstein but I had no idea how involved she was in getting this story toldI also found myself drawn to Christine Blasey Ford as she was relatable down to Earth and showed true courage in her testimony I hope that life treats her well further down the road

An eyeopener of a book This is the story of how two journalists uncovered the Harvey Weinstein scandal also Donald Trumps treatment of women and Kavanaugh a top supreme judge sexual assault allegation All powerful men challenged by women Sexual harassment goes on everyday and it should not happen This was an interesting read and will stay with me and I feel that the women who came forward and told their stories are brave and deserve the respect of others

I am at an odds with the majority of other reviews published here I did not find it a cohesive fascinating insight into the Harvey Weinstock debacle in fact I was a tad surprised that such well known financial journalists for one of the prime financial publication were not able to spear the nub of this appalling sexual manipulation revelation
