It will always fall on my favourites I wouldn't hesitate to say that this is one of the finest novels written in simple languageI really liked the writers approach of storytelling where in each chapter the character of the story continues the plotIn synopsis this book is about how love for someone changes a bad person into good one and on the contrary how vengeance of betrayal destroys everything

This novel had contained so many things humor politics religion culture love triangle inter religious marriage economic struggles draught and above all the livelihood of terai specific to 'Indian Border' All the characters were well created and justified in the description I guess the main character described here was 'Elaiya' then there was a love triangle between him 'Nusrat' and 'Karim' The struggles and difficulties each of the characters had to bear and was referred to as hot humid air 'lu' was simply a perfect title for the novel At the end when 'muchhauri panditni' and 'tute pandit' took a stand and helped those Muslims were really adorable A must read Nepali novel

Lu is a tale about hardship and troubles faced by people residing on the boarder of Nepal who share most of their identities with their counterparts on the other side and are eually exploited from both sides Even the Earth and its weather do no listen to them but keep on adding other misfortunes They have nobody to ask for and nowhere to complain for so hope becomes their only friend for eternityAuthor has tried to add humour and amusing anecdotes of the characters childhood and involved variety of characters to make this novel like a sitcom story Easy fast read and proper usuage of time

This book gives a voice to so many issues from land encroachment to social issues But I think it is also presents a glimpse of the threat that is climate change with the advent of heat waves ravaging southern belts of Nepal The book is very interesting and especially the last bits on religious violence is a page turner I wish this was all fictional but unfortunately it is a character study on events that has occurred

The story seems fine but the writer hasn’t presented with new concept Its another social novel deplicting sorrow In a brighter side the flow of the story is good and keeps the reader engaged But at times there is exaggeration of a single point sth like repetitionWorth a read
