In a book such as this I expect the facts to be right if they are not it undermines its authenticity The “Bogside” is not in Belfast

I genuinely think this is the best book I have read I am not stupid enough to claim it is above the literary works of Orwell or Dickens etc but in terms of the pure joy and entertainment I have gained from a book this is the pinnacleI literally could not put it down I read it uicker than I have any other book and put off daily duties to turn another page Big Phil entertains throughout with extremely interesting and believable anecdotes of the world of Private Military Contractors His way with words is witty incisive and unapologetic for who he is and the world he has been exposed to The structure of the book is well thought out not your run of the mill I went to this school then I got a job here then I did this then I did that Campion filters his upbringing in between action packed stories of a world most of us know little or nothing about that have you hookedI'd recommend this to anybody and I wish there was another 100 chapters

I was taken in by the large number of 45 star reviews which seem to be written by the author themselvesTotal drivel couldn’t get past the first couple of chapters Wish I hadn’t wasted my money

Phil's book is a good read purely for escapism and comedy that he provides while in the face of adversityDont go reading Born Fearless in the hope of finding any material on SAS ops or such like as he doesn't go into any detail on anything Regiment wise whatsoever Yes he mentions he served with 'elite' units and took part in some awesome ops but that's all you'll be gettingI liked Born Fearless because it was light reading easy going fast paced and most of all humorous after all British Army humour is the blackest of the black and unrivaled But it also illustrates the 'can do' mindset of guys who have earned the right to wear the best unit insignias and ualification patches from the world's finest military and live by the 'Improve Adapt and Overcome ethosThere's regarding the murky world of 'The Circuit' as a gun for hire or the unleashing of 'The Hampshire Hammer' in Born Fearless than anything else but dont let that put you off Big Phil comes across as a great bloke unless provoked by lesser individuals; and I think we can all identify with that to some extentPhil thanks for the laughs and the stroll down memory lane

I was instantly captivated by Phil's experiences particularly the dangerous crazy situations he found himself in The characters in the book are vividly described and I could picture them in all their colourful unpredictable glory I thought the book was thoroughly entertaining – I couldn't put it down reading long into the night I love the way Phil writes as if he were having a conversation with you and his sense of humour shines through In many instances I laughed out loud despite the seriousness of his situation An engrossing eye opening read
